When I saw those silly movies,
The ones in black and white;
I always let myself space out,
And disappear from sight.
When I heard of large lizards,
That scaled skyscraper walls,
I always wondered what it was like,
And how much it'd hurt to fall.
I thought the teeth would bite my tongue,
So sharp and pointy (EW!)-
And the scales protruding from my back,
That might mush inward too!
I'd think of all the people,
The ones my tail would whack,
I'd think of all the sleek, shiny cars,
That'd be dented from my smack.
I remember seeing the movie,
Where the lips don't match the words,
And where the timing was always off,
From visible strings and paper birds.
So when I think about large lizards,
That are ten times as large as man,
I want to be Godzilla-
To terrorize Japan.
